We are very excited about an upcoming event! On Saturday, April 10, Vivian Gussin Paley, writer and master teacher of young children, and Bob Herbert, op-ed columnist for the New York Times, will be the keynote speakers for a morning devoted to the topics of “Play, the Imagination, and Taking Time for Living Life.”
As many of you know, Paley is author of many books, including The Girl with the Brown Crayon. Her visit promises to be memorable, so please save this date.
There are lots of other upcoming educational events:
NYC Principals’ Panel – Thursday, March 4, 6-8 pm, Cowin Center
PreK-12 Educators’ Career Fair – Tuesday, March 9, 2-6 pm, Lerner Hall
Please check your TC emails for more information on these events.
And, of course, the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project’s Spring Reunion is just on the other side of that spring break. Jerry Spinelli, author of Maniac Magee, and Jim Trelease, author of The Read-Aloud Handbook, will be the keynote speakers. Sessions will be offered throughout the day, and teachers from all over will come together to learn. Please plan to attend this free event on Saturday, March 20; let us know if you are willing to volunteer.
